The Euro-Ibero-American Youth Forum will be held in the city of Braga (Portugal) from 20th to 28th August. The Portuguese City was chosen as the Ibero-American Youth Capital for 2016, and during this event, it will host more than 170 young university students from more than 30 European countries and from the 21 member states of the International Youth Agency for Ibero-America.

Building on the Sustainable Development Goals agreed by 193 countries in September 2015, at the 70th General Assembly of the United Nations, the event will provide its participants with a unique opportunity to shaping young people’s views on the discussion of concrete measures to be implemented until 2030 within the context of Euro-Ibero-American cooperation.

Throughout these days, participants will be invited to enjoy a broad programme of activities to discuss and exchange ideas, as well as time to share personal and cultural experiences. By the end of the event, young people will have had the chance to improve their ability to work under pressure, mediate in conflicts, achieve goals as members of multi-cultural teams, develop solid arguments and defend them with greater eloquence. As will all events organised by the European Youth Parliament (EYP), the Forum will use English as the working language and will include time for Team Building, Committee Work and a General Assembly.

Aimed at university students, the Forum is a very useful opportunity to empower the next generation that will be the most heavily affected by the consequences of the decisions made in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals.

With the support of the Municipality of Braga, Ibero-American Youth Capital 2016, the Portuguese Association of the European Youth Parliament (APPEJ) is organising this event and, for the first time, opening its doors to participants from Member States of the International Youth Agency for Ibero-America.
